What a Non-Invasive Nose Job Won’t Give You

You want to reshape your nose but you are afraid to go under the knife. So you opt for the alternative procedure - the non surgical rhinoplasty. 

But are you really getting what you really want with this approach? Although non-invasive treatments are not bad, but you also have to consider the quality of results that you have. It won’t give the same results as surgical treatments

In this article, I will be sharing the things that the non-invasive procedure won't give you.

Not as good as the surgery

There is no question that a non-surgical rhinoplasty can give you impressive results, but there are certain changes that fillers can't create. 

Yes, it can improve nasal augmentation and subtle improvements but it cannot get any more extensive. For instance, it won’t be able to reduce the size of the nose, change the shape of the nostrils, narrow the nose, or improve the breathing problems.

The result is not permanent.

Dermal fillers are the substances that are used for this procedure and the result will lasts only for a few months to a year. 

Costly in the long run

With series of sessions needed,  the total cost for non-invasive nose reshaping will eventually reach the cost of traditional rhinoplasty. Surgical rhinoplasty is permanent therefore you don't have to go back to your doctor and pay for any ongoing costs, unless the patient decides for revision surgery.

You might not be able to get rhinoplasty surgery 

A non-invasive rhinoplasty may not require incisions but it doesn't mean that it can result to some scars. In some instances the body reacts to the injectable fillers by forming a scar tissue around it. This will make any future surgical rhinoplasty procedures more difficult to perform. You will know about this further after the surgeon has properly evaluated your case.

May not work for certain cosmetic nasal concerns

Non-surgical rhinoplasty may correct small humps, saddle nose deformities, retracted collumellas and a slight asymmetry, but it cannot improve large sized noses, those that need tip reduction, and those that have large humps.  It will only make the nose structures bigger but it cannot decrease the size or proportion.

Not completely free from side-effects

Even though it is non-invasive it does not mean you are protected from any side effects. The fillers used also have their own complications however it not as serious as the ones you can expect from surgical rhinoplasty. 

For this reason it is important that you choose a doctor who is experienced in handling facial fillers. You have to know that the use of injectable fillers for this purpose is actually off label, which is why you need to entrust this to someone who really knows how to handle these fillers. It can create permanent scarring, lymphatic changes, as well as changes in skin color. Aggressive infections are also something to look out for.
