Factors that May Reveal You Had Cosmetic Surgery

Decades ago, cosmetic surgery was something one kept quiet. Delicate, well-to-do ladies checked into hospitals in the early hours of the morning when no one could spy them. And you didn't talk about cosmetic surgery — ever.

However, a cosmetic surgery becoming a household topic today, most people who underwent this procedure still don’t want to admit that they had some tweaking done.

In this article, I will be sharing  some of the betraying clues that would tell people that a person had cosmetic surgery.

Poor proportions

Cosmetic surgery underlines the importance of aesthetic outcome and usually it is creating proportion that becomes a problem. Usually this can be observed in breast implants and rhinoplasty. For breast implants they may be sized either too small or too large for the person’s body type making them look awkward for the surrounding structures. In rhinoplasty, the nostrils can be sized disproportionately with one becoming too pronounced than the other.

Shape

Also with breast implants, the shape can be a telling sign. A result that is too round, too high or projected would tell people that you have implants. Real breasts have a more subtle outline with a natural slope. The lines don’t look too firm or as with those breasts that has implants.

Scars

Signs that would tell if someone had something done surgically are scars. For example, with hair transplant you could spot hairline scars usually seen near the ears or at the back of the head.

Distortions

In some instances distortions happen as a result of old age or poor technique. For instance with eyelid surgery, the eyelids can either be tightened too much or malpositioned resulting to distortions to the lid tone.

Trout pout

You might have seen this too many times in red carpets, celebrities sporting an overly defined pout in a poor attempt to look sexy like Angelina Jolie. Today it is dubbed to be the trout pout, and it is characterised by an upper lip that looked like it is permanently swollen.

An angry or startled look

Aside from the pout, the usual telling signs that a person had cosmetic surgery done are a permanently severe expression. This is a result of a face lift gone too far or Botox injections on overdrive.  There are celebrities who you can notice today that wear a permanently angry or startled appearance with the eyes and eyebrows pulled too high.

Too young for their age

In some cases people focus too much on their face that they forget the rest of the body. The face can look too plump and wrinkle free while the neck and the rest of the body is left out. People who look too young for their age may not necessarily impress people but instead give them the impression that you have something done. A classic example here would be Barry Manilow.

Puffy face

Puffy faces are something that would tell people that you have gone too far with Botox. Being it the leading cosmetic procedure today a lot of people are defying age through it. But in some cases it may not always give the best outcome especially when it is done in excess. Lindsay Lohan’s beautiful face is a recent example of how Botox injections have gone wrong.
