If you happen to notice that your eyelids are starting to look tired, it is good time for you to give it some rejuvenating.
Although it may not give you the same results as with double eyelid surgery, but it can somehow create some improvements, and even help improve the results of surgery.
Upper
eyelid stretch
This
exercise begins with you closing your eyes, and then pressing your index finger
directly below your eyebrow gently. Hold
this position for ten seconds, and then you slowly release your fingers and
relax. Do this in repetitions of five for each eyelid. This firms the eyelid
and reduces the wrinkles because eventually the muscle under the eyebrow is
strengthened.
Facial
Yoga
You
do this by sitting comfortably straight with both your feet flat on the floor
with a mirror in front of you. Take deep breathes first and relax your neck,
shoulder and facial muscles. You then take a deep breath through your nose and
then you open your mouth widely. Stick your tongue out, and stretch it out
towards the end of your chin. Then in a gentle motion open your eyes as wide as
you can as you contract your throat muscles while exhaling slowly through your
mouth. Repeat this for a few breaths until you feel that your facial muscles
feel rejuvenated.
Shut
Eye Exercise
As
the name imply, you perform this exercise with your eyes closed. Let your eye
muscles relax, and while doing this move your eye upward. Hold this for a
moment and then move you’re eyed downwards. Easy right? Repeat this exercise 10
times and then change your eye direction to left and right for another ten
repetitions.
Eyebrow
Movement
This
exercise also requires a mirror to help you be accustomed with the movement.
What you need to do is position the mirror in front of you as you sit in a
comfortable position. Look straight ahead with your eyes open, then slowly lift
your eyebrows and then pause it halfway through. As you still remain in that
position you slowly engage the muscle of the eyelids and those beneath the
eyebrow. With this action you will be able to see the whites of your eyes. Do
this for several repetitions a day.
Toning
Exercise
Since
your eyelids have muscle tissue, you can improve its appearance by doing
strengthening and toning exercises. To do this, place several fingers of each
hand on your left and right temple, and then slightly pull the sides of your
eyes towards the direction of your ear. As you hold this position, open and
close your eyes in a rapid movement in repetitions of five or ten. Repeatedly
doing this can help tighten the eyelid but also the area outside the eye making
the eyelids less droopy.
Upper
Eyelid Fix
You
can do this exercise either sitting or standing in a comfortable position, as
you look forward. Place your index fingers which are slightly curved on the
area just beneath the eyebrows. Then lift your eyebrows slightly upwards with
some resistance against the bones of your upper eye socket. Then gradually
lower your upper eyelid in four or five counts as you close your eyes. Then you
follow this by slowly opening your eyes in 6 counts. Repeat these three or more
times.
Eyebrow
Trick
This
eyebrow exercise starts by lifting your brows as high as you can while you keep
on closing your eyes. As your brows remain to be in this position, stretch your
upper eyelids as far down as you can go. Although in reality this won’t look
like much but visualizing this can help you tone your muscles. Hold this
position as you count up to five and then relax. Repeat this exercise five
times daily.
